Workshop for Contemporary Art and Literature

Many artists/ painters are less privileged to exhibit their creative works in galleries. We call them to participate in our group exhibitions. Our participants / members collectively bear the expense of exhibitions/project. So you are welcome as a participant or member.

Painters who want to exhibit their works enlist and register their name along with biodata, stamp size photo and photos of 4 best painting works.

A Painting Class For you only

Students can have an environment of an Art studio, share ideas with others, learn History of art Oriental and western ( according to the syllabus of different art colleges in India and abroad) and discuss, travel for outdoor study, copy paintings, figure study, get exclusive printed colourful art lessons, experience on different styles and techniques, exhibit their works in art galleries. (this is only for course bound students)

Many students as well as artists do not find place where art or painting can be learnt more practically and professionally. There are art colleges, institutions and schools. All impart knowledge of art through mechanism or certain system. Students of art need more care as any performing art do not limit in an enclosed space and theory. A performing art student needs a close relation or tie with a teacher for sometime. Most successful painters, it has been observed that they have learnt from a teacher or a mentor of their own choice and influenced by a particular style of schooling in their early part of life. So, we have decided we shall groom a student more practical way than art institutions do to rear them a successful artist. Our lessons are such a device or manoeuvre that covers all imparting skills, styles, techniques to command over painting.

Our arrangement ( as sharing ) for :

Many people has no place to nourish their dream of becoming artist, they will find a place for regular basis for learning and exhibiting painting

Many students live far off places they need an affordable lodging hostels

Many needs tuition and guidance may be they are new and beginner, studying art somewhere, trying painting as carreer, spending time for fun and etc.

The packaged classes support practicing artists, art school applicants, enthusiastic amateurs, and complete beginners. All receive focused attention.

Male and female, Age no bar . Only Bengali and English speaking students.

Who can join:
Any body can join as a member for certain span of time paying the requisite amount and fees.

Promotion of painting through guidance and exhibitions

What are the Packaged classes?
Packaged classes cover the syllabus of Indian Art colleges, full of fun, interesting understandable and friendly. All are profession oriented, so that one can take it as profession and continue exhibiting in galleries.

1. Students who have high ambition for Painting but find no way toward their destination of becoming a professional painter

2.Students who could not secure admission in art colleges or who wants to prepare himself for admission in an art college in future or who passed ‘ B Fine’ willing to enter in profession

3. Students who want to draw and paint for pleasure.

4. Those students are working and those students are senior retire man can also join.

One year duration for each course, There are Three courses

Drawing class:

Practical: basic conception and understanding of an object, how to draw and master on this art, use of geometrical shape, 3D and 2D concept, perspective and space creation, nature study, drapery, still life , animal study, human figure study, shaping and formation, use of shade, use of charcoal and pastel and how to express ideas etc apart from technical skill.

Theoretical: basic history of art and culture, drawing of early cave man and bushman, How famous painters used to draw , colourful exclusive printed lessons

Duration: 40 weeks in a year, 4 days in a week, 2 hours long classes, Time span for outdoor study or traveling for spot study will be adjusted within main frame of time.

Painting class:

Practical : Use of mediums like charcoal, pastel, water, mixed , acrylic, and oil etc. style and techniques, How to draw with colour, portrait study, model study, still life , drapery, landscape, creative paintings, copy painting, antique study, spot painting,

Theoritical : World History of Art, focused and mentionable periods of art history, life and works of early master painters , the history and background of various art movements, Western painting and eastern paintings. Etc

Duration: 40 weeks in a year, 4 days in a week, 2 hours long classes, Time span for outdoor study or traveling for spot study will be adjusted within main frame of time.

Professional Painting:

Practical: Painting constant under guidance and observation while students work hard to create their own idioms and express ideas through paintings. Understanding of formation and stylization, designing and patterning. A final stage when an artist lay his own ideas on canvas, prepare himself for professional painter and get ready for exhibition in galleries. This requires supports from all angles. Apart from making layout, transmission of ideas in visual form, visiting art galleries, Guest teachers or Painters lecture

Theoritical : Lesson on Art beauty and aesthetics, World Art movement of this last century. Focuss on Indian Painting , different schooling, Art of Bengal, and Indian master painters life and works.

Duration: 40 weeks in a year, 4 days in a week, 2 hours long classes, Time span for outdoor study or traveling for spot study will be adjusted within main frame of time.

Fees and Guidelines: 3 easy payments

Each course for one year duration. Total Tution fee : Rs.18000/ Advance Rs.10000 .and rest amount in two instalments payable before ending the course.

Lodging and food @Rs.2000 pm, advance 12,000 and rest amount in two instalments payable before ending the course. (Dormitory and mess system)

Those students want to make it a single payment 15% will be discounted.

This is special package for interest oriented workshop
A 3 days spot painting tour, a seven days long creative painting tour or any special training in door or outdoor ( in the suburbs)
Cost will be informed later( it depends on traveling, lodging, food and tuition etc.)

A one month Introductory course on painting:

This is designed for beginners level,it is dealt with technical sides a know- how- use- mediums while drawing and painting. Students of any age can join.

Activities/ subjects of studies:
Basic knowledge of paintings using different mediums (pencil, pen and ink, pastels, water colour, oil colour , acrylic, mixed media etc on paper and canvas.

Duration of time: 12 sessions, 2.5 hrs a sessions a day, 3 days in week, 4 weeks a month.

This one month bound course cost Rs.6000/ onlyat students place. and at my studio 4000/ . Students are free to purchase art materials from outside.

Painting for fun Six months bound course

A six month bound 24 sessions, 2.5 hrs a session a day, once in week , 4 weeks a month, and 6 months

This is designed for general students who likes to learn painting for fun.
The course is devised in two parts 12 classes on pencil, pen and ink, pastel on colour paper, mixed media , water colour and introductory lesson on colour spectrum, relevant knowledge on drawing and painting, skill technical levels styles and a lecture on art and painting
And second part deals with acrylic colour and oil colour, nature study( landscape), still life , antique study, and modern painting

A single payment. Course fee Rs. 5000.at my studio
Art materials will be available on cash payment

I have been asked if I give private lessons. The answer is yes. Over the years I have had several clients arrange for private art and painting lessons, and due to past experiences I have come up with fees and guidelines.

Fees and Guidelines:

1) I only give private lessons once in week.

2) The fee is Rs 600 per 2 hour session.

3) Client must prepay 4 sessions in advance (Rs.2400).

4) If the client misses a lesson there is no make-up.

5) If I have to cancel a lesson there will be a make-up.

I am a maker of painters. Many students are working now as painters.

Students flow in from different districts of West Bengal, Such as Midnapur, Murshidabad/ Behrampur, Jalpaiguri, Nabadwip, Howrah, 24 parganas( N/S) Jhar khand. Travelling a long distance, about 1 to 17 hours journey, students just come to me for a two hour class, and continue.

I have opened my studio just to groom you as a full time painter. You can learn the techniques and prepare yourself a contemporary painters.

1. If you are a working man/woman, You can come and work on your own in my studio. (if you lack a space at your home, you can work at my studio 3 hours a day, 3 days in a week and 4 weeks in a month, total 12 days. fee @Rs. 2000/ per month.

We teach and help students for their interest in Art.
We do not give/issue any kind of certificate to be recognized by any establishments/institutions. Those students need lessons on ART for their college, personal interests, or as a career , for their livelihood, or for any kind of benefit they may have can join our professional courses. Eminent teachers will guide students. We do not provide Jobs nor sell Art objects.

Residential and non-residential art course: Fine Art & Applied Art (Commercial Art with Computer Applications) .
1) Fine Art: History of Indian Art, Oriental Art, And Western Art.
Painting class ( Water colour, Oil colour, Acrylic colour , Tempera, Mixed media, Gouache etc. application and practical work), Creativity and Art exhibition.

Duration of Art course :

Beginners Level ( art history and practice of out door study), Intermediate Level ( art application, technical sides and digital, overall concept), And Professional Level (perception of creativity, grooming into a professional ).
Courses are optional. Each level consists of 12 months, 4 days of a week; 4 hours class a day (and 3 hours a day for non residential students). Time schedule: For residential students 7A.M. to 11 A.M. (And non- residential 7A.M. to 10 A.M.).

Duration: Two years. 4 days of a week; 4 hours class a day (and 3 hours a day for non residential students). Time schedule: For residential students 6P.M. to 10 P.M. ( and for non residentials 6P.M. to 9 P.M.)
Eligibility: Age minimum 18 years old; Academic background should be minimum viii (eight) standard, Indian citizen, non- criminal record certificate from local institution and an assurance of complying fair law and order.

Any student, (male, female, employed, unemployed) those who cherish a dream to become an artist, but have no chances because of a family pressure / no institution or teacher were available/ because of engagement of different type of jobs / loves arts / because enough time to be killed / want to become a professional artist / because college is not imparting a satisfactory artistic knowledge / because want to do something special …..a contemporary artist…

Weekly ( once in a week) Art class for junior and senior students:
Only fine arts (application and art history) junior students (below 18 years, and senior students 18 and up) Duration of class is 3 hours .
Tution fee:

Rs500/ per month for the students want to join classes 4 days a week, Rs.6000/ yearly payable. ( students can pay in 3 installments ).
Weekly class for senior students (18 years and up) Rs.200/ ; for junior students ( 17 years and below) Rs. 100/ ( Four months tution fees advance payable)

Residential students have to pay extra Rs.2000/ for their lodging and meal.
All plans/ projects are subject to change to facilitate better accommodation and service.

To whom it may concern:
“I have built a group name ‘Rainbow Artists and Writers Foundation’ It is non-profitable organization, and all members of this organization works for the benefit of under privileged artists and writers.
Five years back (2002), some of my acquaintances and me came together with a common view and formed this group or society in good intention that we shall help artists and writers and do some good works in the field of Art and Culture. It is a registered society under govt. of India, society act. (West Bengal Society Registration Act, 1961).
Why we (Rainbow Artists and Writers Foundation) are here:

Before our formation of this organization, we noticed that many talented artists could not show his talent in Art and Cultural field, due to economic hindrances and communication with proper and concerned authorities, their works lay neglected, they remain in dark and feel a sort of inferior complex. There are many groups of Art and cultural activities, but all groups are formed only to promote themselves, they don’t care about any other artists, may be they feel rivalry, may be they feel some problems. Anyway, unknown and artists from far off places ( – villages , country side and from remote areas) have less privilege and opportunity to show their talents. We believe the said problem can be solved if any organization extends help. So, with good intention and understanding we have formed this organization. We talk to people need our help, and extend help from our source that we can afford. We clearly say the organization never make any money making business, it runs on members subscription and donation (if any wants to make at all ). Till date, we could not go to anybody for donation, nor anybody came forward to donate a rupee! We held a few exhibitions over the last few years in west Bengal. And we are planning to hold an exhibition in other states too. The executive members of this organization have little time after their own jobs and duties for this organization, so, we could not do it bigger project in past, but cherish in mind to do our best in future.

Rainbow Artists and Writers Foundation

We are very small group with little resources, the guest members join us, when we hold any function, lets say Exhibition in galleries. We see every possibilities to make it big to attract media, make a budget and fund for the particular job involving all participants guest members, we share all expenses from our (participants) own pocket, as we don’t have fund at all. If participant do agree with us we proceed and allow to join the guest member for the particular exhibition. How many paintings a guest member can hang in exhibition it is decided in a general meeting. How many participants are in number in that particular exhibition, how many works the gallery room can hang, etc. but the organization offers equal treatment to every participants. As the expense of exhibition is shared by all participants. The organizations liability is only doing the arrangements. Never takes any liabilities nor share any loss or profit out of the exhibition.

Our next exhibition in January 2008 (we have not received a confirmation letter, so, the date can not be mentioned, at Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata ) We are looking for also some private galleries, where we can hold an exhibition for our guest members paintings and creative works)

Our guest members are those not want to join our society, but need help for exposition of his/ her creative works. The organization only arrange a better platform or state or extend a help for under privileged people, so that they easily can expose them selves. And the organization never takes part in any sort of profit making business.

Guest members are requested to inform about better exposition places like galleries, hall room for art exhibition to be held in his/ her state/city. Because we depend on active help rendered by our guest-members to run activities like holding exhibition in different states.

We don’t have Art patrons, Art dealers, nor do we sell paintings or object of art; so, don’t expect any favour except group shows. Our guest members are from different states of India. It is members’ free will to participate in group shows, or abstain from participation.
In general, we (the organization) scrutinize the art works that to be put in exhibition for display, and reserve right to discard an object of art/ painting from exposition if it feels not suitable, without any notice or permission of the artist created the object.
